In connection to the program, Mr. Alan Hmar, Defence Secretary, HPC(D), GHQ in his speech mentioned how “HPC(D) Reformation Day” came into existence. He mentioned that “HPC(D) Reformation Day” was presented as an agenda by him stating the necessity of observing Rising Day/Founding Day/Reformation Day and was duly approved and passed as a resolution in 2018 at the HPC(D) Council Meeting held at Rengkai before the disintegration of HPC(D), GHQ and HPC(D), Manipur Region. In continuation to his speech, he also mentioned that different organisations from sister tribes have their own Rising Day/Founding Day/Reformation Day and observed them in a grand manner. Whereas HPC(D) does not have a specific ‘Rising Day/Founding Day/Reformation Day’ to observe and it was his wish to have a special ‘Day’ to observe and to freshly imbibe the Aims & Objectives of HPC(D), its vision and ambition among the ‘Nation’s Army’ and flutter the Hmar and HPC(D) Flag. Also, the main reason for observing the ‘Day’ on May 22 is because it is the death anniversary of (L) Pu Lalropui Famhoite, C-in-C, HPC(D), GHQ who tirelessly and wholeheartedly gave his all from the inception of the organisation till his last breath and as such May 22 was agreed by all. Lastly, he mentioned that (L) Pu Lalropui Famhoite is worthy of giving the title “Father of the HPC(D)”.
